Hey how you guys doing?
Can any one tell me the part number for the Idler pulley on a 97 gtp? The one between the crank and the AC pulleys?
Thanks in advanced.

You should be able to find the part # if you search for "pulley" or something similar here.

Also, you might want to poke around clubgp a bit, I seem to remember someone posting part numbers for aftermarket pullies(that can be purchased at local parts chains) that are far superior to the stock ones used in the earlier year GTP's.

If you have over 40K on the car, you should seriously consider new tensioner and idler pulleys. The stock plastic ones are crap. The bearings get hot, grease dries up and they seize. Once they seize they tend to fragment and take your belt with it. I would suggest dayco metal replacements. They are a little wider and a lot better build. Not a hard install. If you can do spark plugs you can do these.
Dayco Part numbers are as follows;
Idler Pulley (Smooth 3.5") - #89006
Idler Pulley (Grooved 3.0") - #89009
Tensioner Pulley (3.0" (Used for the NA 3.8 also)) - #89007
Tensioner Pulley (SC Drive 3.0") - #89007
The grooved idler and the larger smooth idler go on the SC drive belt along with the SC Tensioner Pulley.
The accessory belt only uses one tensioner pulley.
