I'm just wondering what you guys expect me to run. This will be my first time there. If you want my list of mods, click either my cardomain page link. Wish me luck.

Low 15's I'd say...I can't wait to see what you actually get!

You have a K&N drop-in, intake and head porting, chip, UDP, and an EXHAUST (it's done right?) now correct?
Normally I'd say this would yield 15.2-15.4@89.5-90.5mph.
But you also have 3.73's, 3K stall and a couple other goodies.................so I'm going to forecast a 14.9@90-90.5mph.
*IF* you can get good traction :P
Remember to play with tire pressures and stall speeds to see what yields the best launches.

Aaron's car is the unstoppable force. Fastest 3.4 on the planet. Slaughterer of L67s! :P

How much hp would the headwork, ported manifolds, chip, 3.73gears, filter, and throttlebody porting will add? ~45whp?
After some serious research  , I am predicting 14.7s @ 92.8mph w 2.1 60' 8)
This guy(94 Z34) just had the filter and a chip.
2.210 6.340 9.960 @ 73.65 15.130 @ 91.23
Am I way off?

I predict a 15.0-15.4...if it's hot as hell where you live that is..it's too hot to be going to the track(I usually only race my cars early and late in the racing season for the cool weather) where I live.

How much hp would the headwork, ported manifolds, chip, 3.73gears, filter, and throttlebody porting will add? ~45whp?
Filters of the drop-in kind are good for ~2whp, and all the porting combined is likely good for another 8-12whp (maybe a touch more...but I doubt it), and I believe he has an exhaust now too (maybe 7-10hp).
The chip is good for something like 2 peak whp, but makes 8 or so AFTER the peak IIRC.........add in the extra 1/2 to full point of compresion (~4whp?)...........
I think he is probably 20-30whp over stock............somewhere at, or a litle shy of 190whp (close to a stock L67 GTP)................but with better gearing.
Hence my 14.9 prediction with a little left in the car once he gains experience.

Well, it didn't go as good as planned, being my first time. A few things to remember before i post the times:
1)had about 150 lbs. of crap in my trunk, forgot to take out
2)my reaction time sucked, first time at the track, didn't know what to expect
3)forgot to power break at the line
4)i fucked up my 2-3 shift, so that totally screwed me over
Mods that I haven't updated on my cardomain page though: 2.5 exhaust and finally a cone filter(which probably didn't help much at all, but with no drip pans, i'm probably getting cold air to the filter).
14's are very possible for me, i just need to do remember a few things next time. I was only able to get 1 run in, as it was busier than crap, because the track conditions were perfect.

I think 2.1 mabe*2.0 60foot are possable considering you had heavy ass chrome wheels with NO tread and you launched off idle.

Reaction time has nothing to do with your 1/4 unless you bracket race...your 60' is what matters. Your time does not do your car justice! Go back and run more you deserve 14's! One thing doesnt seem right about your MPH. Check out my PB timeslip:

That is too bad you only could get one run in. Good luck when you go back, no doubt you will improve.

Yeah, i can definately get 14's with no problem. Just give me another chance at the track, with about 3-4 runs, i will be well into the 14's.

Hmm did you let off the gas or something? Since I've taken my car down the track many times, I know what the max MPH I can get crossing the line.. so I keep going until its a little faster than that, and then brake.

your 60 foot sucks. i had 2.2s stock. work on some traction. the mph is also lower because of the gearing but due to the mods it should be around 90mph. how the hell did u hit a 7150 rev limiter in 2nd gear. lol most of these cars stock don't even make it out of second gear at the track so that should say something. put the tsock tires on next time and put the pressure to 24 psi brake stall to 3k or so if they use vht u should hook decent. i don't know if anyone told u but go on the last yellow light. and lastly try and let the car shift on its own once and see what happens. what were track conditions?
slick
07-15-2004, 05:29 PM
Track conditions were perfect. But, like I stated above, i screwed up on a few things, so that really slowed me down. I know i can atleast get a 90 mph, and a 2.1-2.0 60 ft., and pull 14's. Definately next time im gonna run on the stock rims and tires, and empty out the trunk. Also, hopefully next time i'll be albe to get a few more runs in than just 1.

reaction time does not figure into the ET. That is good advice if he is bracket racing though.

Yeah, i've been told that a few times now  Hopefully i'll make it back sometime, its just one hell of a drive down there (45 minutes).

ya i know but if u have a good reaction time and u race your buddy at the track who has a faster car u could beat him if he sucks that bad. it also helps in street racing. theres no reason that car won't pull 1.9 60's period u can flash stall that converter to 4500 if u know how to drive it. the car would need slicks for that though

If the track conditions are "perfect" like he said, then he should be able to pull 1.9 60's on street tires. When my STE was stock I could pull 2.0 60's all day and the tires would chirp about once. I'm sure with a "perfect" track I could've easily pulled a 1.9 60', especially with the right suspension modifications. If you have the power, you can get good 60' times with a FWD car. After I put the chip in it I didn't get enough runs in to learn how to launch it with the added power, but the track was also the worst I had ever seen it (my dad pulled a best of 1.889 60' on his slicks and usually pulls mid 1.7's, and I pulled a best of a 2.22 60' then. My dads GTP pulls consistant mid 1.7 60's on slicks with a moderately sticky track (the condition it would be for a test and tune or something like that), so FWD cars can launch if driven properly with the right tire/suspension combo. My dad puts spring blocks in his rear springs to keep the rear of the car from sagging when he hits the gas, therefore keeping more weight over the front tires, giving him better traction.
I definately think that without the weight in the car and with a decent launch and shifting out of 2nd without hitting the limiter that that car can hit 14's. All you have to do is run a 14.77 to be faster than Aaron and I don't really car what else you do after that.
