ok its been abit of a bs contest recently and i want to know who would probably win:
1993 lumina z34 auto, 3.4, no mods
2000 Grand Prix GT, 3800 n/a, auto, CAI, dual frat cans

With no mods on the 3.4, and being it an auto, I'd have to go with the 00' GP GT.
Of Course, the only way to find out is to race. 8)

The GP GT should probably win, but race it anyway.

You should be able to beat it, i beat a 2000+ one that had exhaust and some ricey lights/stickers on it. If i can beat it in my 3700lb+ car with my mods id bet you can too.

It's a tossup.
Short races (<70mph) will go to the L36, but anything longer than that, the LQ1 will have more and more of an advantage.
In any event, it's not THAT big of a difference...........driver skill will count a LOT here.

I launched at about 1800rpms, with the car in D and i had him from 0-90.

It'd be close, but the Z34 would win in the long run.

No we are talking about the N/A 3800 Series II GP GT. A post97 "Supercharged" GTP would smoke a Z34. It would pry take the Z off the line and pretty much every gear all the way up. Now a 5-Speed 3.4 DOHC would give the GTP a little more run for its money, but the Z34 would still loose. :? Damn Superchargers....but you put one on a Z34 and it would walk all over a GTP.

That actually be a pretty goood race...........I've seen one GP GT manage a 15.9 stock and another 15.8.....that second car got a 15.4 at a better preped track with only the U bend removal mod.
A kid at school recently ran a best of 15.951 with his 96 Z34......with a trap speed 0.75-1 mph higher than the L36 cars had......so the LQ1 was pulling on the L36s.
Go race the guy.....and get it on tape.....and post the video.

come the 17th or aug 21 i'll be raceing him at the drags, hes a cocky mofo, "so ya gona give me money for the gas that i'll waste?" and shit like that, i think i have a decent chance considering his car runs prety junky, with a wheelbearing on its way out and lord knows how long its been since he cleaned his air filter along with the fact that he flogs it on a daily basis. whereas i like to keep my car perfectly tuned. thanks for all the comments, i really want to win this one

Just remember to stall to 1800-2000rpm for the launch and hold 2nd gear over the line (to take advantage of your top end).

Who won the race?
My 03 and his Z were dead even with 3 people in each car
