::flashback race:: vs. a 93-95 300zx n/a

while at a local car show, i occasionaly looked at some cars that would pass by, and guess who i saw!? it was the 300zx that i had beaten a couple, three, years ago! lets revisit that climatic race of testicular fortitude, that once graced the kill section of efi-street :lol: ;

we are at a stoplight, i dont think any revs were exchanged, and we hit it when it turned green. he got his rear end right by my front, and i was gaining good(got into that powerband) and proceeded to take the win. i donr know if he was AT or MT, the loudness of my exhaust almost cancelled his, but he was sportin dual fart cans. anyways, @ the next light, he asked me what i did to it, and i told him i just had a HYPERTECH chip :shock: :lol: (yep, that was before i knew about ffp's chip..... :P )

And how many miles were on the car at this time?

I seem to remember you having some rather slow dragstrip results and blaming it on high mileage (you are somewhere north of 150K correct?)........

I would ASSUME that you beat an automatic (mid 16 second slow), but a Baboon for a driver can make even a low 15 second car (what stock manual trannied Z32 NA's run) pretty slow (at least within reach of an LQ1 auto....one that's healthy anyway :D ).




I've only ever matched up with a single Z32............from a 65mph roll in my Grand Prix...............by 110-115mph (we went twice) the Z pulled exactly 1 car length........it's rear bumper to my front bumper.

They do VERY well from a roll but are kinda hard to get out of the hole for a RWD car though, as the suspension has a LOT of anti-squat dialed into the geometry..........not exactly conducive to a good launch.

at the time it was between 90-100k on it. one person tried to tell me otherwise, stating that the potatoe chip on my floorboard didnt count for performance :lol:

ive seen an older pre 1990 @ least 300zx in REALLLY bad shape....as in a 4 banger auto galant stayed within a 1/2 car length of it up to 70....
