i have always heared about the 3100 and 3.1 having better starting capability then the 3.4dohc.. well all i have to say is damn either im doing something really right or the last 2 3.1 and 3100 luminas i went against have some major problems.. the 3.1 was a red 91-93 euro lumina and the 3100 was about a 97 lumina. I think its really funny when they put up a fight after they lost atleast by a full carlength or more by 30mph. i guess the people in my town suck....
on another note the 90 mustange 5.0 5 speed has agreed to a rematch... the only problem is the bridge is under construction again.

My 3.1 is slow.. and just ignore the loud 'wooshing' sound you hear, that's just a big vaccum leak.

3100's have 20 more horses and better top end than a 3.1. Aside from the 60 degree 3x00's nice intake manafold problem, I'd like to put a 3400 Turbo in my car if I had the time and resources to do so.

:lol2: I raced a kid in a 5.0 Mustang one night. He asked me what was under the hood after I pulled 3 car lengths off the line and he couldn't catch me. I told him it was just a v6. He asked what the noise was everytime I shifted...told him the throw-out bearing was toast...

The 3.1 remained in the Lumina until 1994. Chevy moved to the 3100 in 1995.

when i fucked around with john (john92lumina) when he had the lumi, he could keep up off the line, but top end i could fry him, obviously. but point is, till about 30 mph my powerband kicks in and i lose any 3.1
