Went to Cedar Falls Raceway......even with the rain we had here. The drive up was fun..........RX-7, Sebring, Neon R/T, and a 2nd Gen GP GT 4 door followed up........pulled 3 cars or so on the Neon from a 50ish roll by 120 mph or so (I had the VSS unplugged). The RX-7? Well, its fast..........
Like I said, it was raining today......the two runs I made where inbetween rain clouds. The following run was right after getting there and going through tech (hot and heavy).....
60...2.997
330...7.375
1/8...10.977 @ 68.45
1000...14.029
1/4...16.588 @ 87.89
I launched off idle......and it spun to 5k right away.......so quick that I though I broke my car.......backed off, realised I was moving, and got back into it. Not so cool.
Back in the pits, dropped front tire pressure to 25 psi and pulled things from the car (spare, jack, floormats, and dead hookers). So I sat and let things cool......call me crazy, but I think the larger ported manifold cools quicker........watched a few races.......a Camaro 305 TPI (auto I think) and 4.9L Mustang (missed second gear by a lot) went slow.
Anyways, I then went to the staging lanes with the GP GT........and then it started to rain.........sat for a bit to let things clear off.
60...2.259
330...6.413
1/8...9.920 @ 70.03
1000...12.918
1/4...15.451 @ 88.50
Things went better.....not perfect by any means......launched off idle.......spun to and hooked at 3k.....which appears to be about right.......didn't try launching with any sort of rpm......and I really don't know how to launch it yet, other than to try and hook up by 3k. So if I get my #### together....on a good day (we had a massive cross wind).......I think I should be able to get a 15.2 @ 90 mph.....we'll see.
The GP ran 15.807@86.20..........which I think is pretty good, considering it was stock and a four door......friends of mine own 97 GP GT 2 doors and could only pull 15.9s.
The above run on is on tape......just waiting for it to be ripped and uploaded.
The track closed after that run........got half my money back in the form of a rain check (ha ha).
