Ok last night I was on my way back home from my mom's house (It's sucks being the only computer tech in the family) I'm crusing down I-96 and I see this black '97+ Grand Prix GT sedan just flying through traffic and all of a sudden this red pre '95 Lumina Euro Sedan started to hit the gas pedal too, now I'm trying not to speed and burn too much gas 'cause I'm not working and have no money to refill the gas tank, but I haven't driven in a week, I'm going for it. I fly around a couple cars to catch the prix & loomie, we lined up @ 60 mph there's no cars in front of us now...me & the prix spanked the other euro from start to finish, but just as I was pulling next to the prix he shut it down @ 95, I was kinda angry he stopped so soon, I wanted to se how bad my '90 would get spanked by the Prix (My '91 Sedan is down for L67 Swap) but oh well still pretty close from 60 mph roll.

your mad that he quit at 95...how fast have you got your car up to? Things start to get a little sloppy when you hit triple digits unless proper modifications have been performed! 8)

My 4 door didn't vibrate until 110mph that's how I knew I was on my way to the gov. but before that it handled triple digits like a pro.

Unless you have an aftermarket suspension, there's no way a first gen 4-Door w-body is going to handle good.

hey my rear aftermarket suspension has nothing to do with my handling

The Regal with the FE1 was scary at 130. Especially over the top of a hill.

Where the hell are you finding cop-free roads to get up that high, unless you're talking about track times or something.

Sorry, inexperienced (and also paranoid due to being taken to jail over a speeding ticket  ) person here.

I-96 is NOT a cop-free road, espically at night. if you're gonna speed, speed on I-275, where you'll get passed at 85, not on 96 where there's state troopers up the anus

my top speed runs are always done on Hwy. 34 between Wheatland and Laramie Wyoming. as you can probably imagine, not much traffic there. kick ass highway tho, an 11 mile long wide-open straightaway and fun canyon twisties right after that.

once you get out of detroit, there's plenty of 2 lane country roads to speed on

*sigh* You west people, always getting all the cool roads. Meanwhile I'm stuck here in the midwest. Oh well.. at least there are some cool things about Ohio. Oh, wait..

Try living here. It is pretty cool, just the base. We threw a bullshit "Celebration of Flight" thing for 2003, due to the Wright Brothers being here. Yeah, overpriced, overhyped bullshit. Dayton has it's head up it's ass, but so does the rest of Ohio. What else is new?

Don't worry once these new houses are finished being built, we'll be out priced out of Detroit and we'll be forced to go to the burbs, and you'll have Detroit back, so keep your chin up.

Tell me about it, Detroit used to be such a nice place to live, now it's embrassing to say where you live. Most people get quiet when they know you are from Detroit because they don't want to laugh in your face, or they are scaried of you, why I don't understand the fear, but the laughter....I know why their laughing.

Not to mention the speed limits of Michigan AND Ohio Suck SOME Royal nasty hershey squirts ass. I drive a Semi-Truck, so I am kinda biased. But what were they thinking in Michigan, 55 Speed limit for trucks, 75 for cars? Are they just trying to kill ppl? And Ohio, its just plain miserable, Apsolutly f-ing nothing for MILES upon MILES. And here I am driving along at 55 (dont you dare go over that in a big truck, or you will get some hefty tickets), and being passed by cars doing 80-90 mph.

But I have to agree, other than the Pontiac, MI GM plant that builds the full size GM trucks, Michigan sucks. :puke: Michigan

once you get out of detroit, into the country, there are some nice parts of michigan, but there are lots of more diseriable places to live over michigan

I do my runs on I-85 between Union City and Newnan. Recently, they've started building a development near me. HUGE ass 4 lane road. No traffic, closed to the public. I pratice all my "unorthodox" moves there.

180's, Reverse 180's, purposely sliding the car around corners, Cornering under adverse conditions, etc. etc. lol. My car takes a beating on some Friday nights. Too bad it won't be going on for much longer. They're finally starting to do major work back there. And don't worry, I wouldn't plan on doing this forever anyway. I'm just trying to get the feel of my car. Plus, the entire suspension needs to be changed anyway. As for the 180's, that's a wet situation only. No way I'd try that when it's bone dry. I like my $60 tires and horrible FE1 suspension too much
