View Full Version : '90 Eclipse vs. a Neon

I didn't think there was anything slower than my Eclipse, but low and behold, there is...I had just gotten off the Interstate, and was at a stoplight next to a white Neon. I had my foot on the gas and the clutch, revving to about 3000 rpm. I let off the clutch nice and easy and when my foot was all the way up I mashed the gas. Revved to 5000 (1500 under the redline) then shifted. Same story up through third and half of fourth before he gave up...I was about 1 car ahead after 1st gear. It was fun, but sad.

Not bad...You make it seem like your Eclipse is slower than an old guy riding a tricycle....Good race..

I was really surprised when I got the tires to squeel...It's only the second time I've gotten them to squeel at all, and it only did it about half way through 1st gear. It's kinda fun to drive though, even though it's slower than a go-ped.
