I kicked it's arse....uphill by about 4 car lenghts

It was an 83-84 judging by the color...prolly a 3.8

Redneck thought he was the shit since he had him a Chevy :lol:

Hell even if it was a 305 I wouldn't be surprised if you beat it. I was gonna buy a 87? Cutlass before I decided to buy my GP.. and it couldn't even do a breakstand. They have crappy transmissions.

We've got a 84 SS Monte in our garage. for being 20 years old and 89k miles it hauls.

Yeah the Monte SS is fast. The Cutlass Supreme 305 I think had a different "highway" transmission. They weren't as quick but got better gas mileage or something. :?:

the 3.8 puts out 110 hp, not too surprising lol....maybe a 4.3 wouldve been more even w/ 150 hp & around 225 lb/ft

Actually I'm pretty sure the Monte used the Chevy 3.8 back then...so that probably made even less power...it might still be 110hp, but that's the Chevy 232, not the Buick 231.

Imagine a 4.3 w/ a Buick T-type setup

about 300hp and 425 lb ft of torure :twisted:

Was talking to a friend a few days ago thinking of putting a turbo 4.3 in a fiero...since a v8 would throw off the weight balance

Also he's right the 3.8 put out 110hp :wink: and 190 lb.ft. of torque

I could tell what year it was by the color....that color was only offered 83-84...which it was available with a 3.8...the 4.3 didn't come into play till 85

depending on the year 4.3 specs are 130-145hp and 210-225 tq....with that torque number it would have killed my gp...considering the LS weighs only 3200 lbs
