The Competitors,
Eagle Talon (5 spd manual, no idea or drivetrain)
Ford Bronco (older, automatic)
2002 Honda Civic (4 speed auto)
Mustang LX (older, with positrack and auto)
and a few others I can't think of off hand.
This is a daily race down mild street traffic. The starting point is our vocational school that is a fair bit away from our home school.
Class ends at 10:25 and the time limit is 30 minutes to class (it take sthe bus 30 minutes, but they go a very long and slow route)
Depending on traffic the average race is about 15-20 minutes. The optimal route clocks in at about 5 miles.

I personally take the purple route but go a slightly different set of back roads to get there. Generally gets me a few extra seconds if I catch the light.
The blue route is the slowest because it has a ridiculous amount of stop lights that are never in your favor.
The red route is actually the shortest route but unless you are willing to risk the speeding ticket you lose alot of time.
The green route is the absolute worst because you end up following the blue route through the worst parts of it, and it's a school bus.
Most of the times the race isn't very exciting except for the straight on the purple route, it's like 2.5 miles of flat road with no hills, bumps, curves, or cops. My top speed on this stretch is 95 mph but I freaked out cause the car felt unstable at that speed, that and at the end it curves off pretty hard which my w-body doesn't enjoy.
Generally I score a victory for the w-bodies but sometimes the bronco pulls out of no where and beats us by like 3 minutes or something. The talon puts up a good fight but his fuel injectors have gotten dirty and his car is running rough so he doesn't push it too hard anymore.
