Well I guess I might as well make a log of what I am doing to my TGP too.

1st thing I have finished is cleaning the engine bay for the most part. I'd like to get some new/repaint the parts that have paint missing or have rust.

Rims

Got a little more to go on them. I just picked up some used Fusion ZRi 245/50/16 tires for it too. I'll be cleaning behind the the rim when I take them off to get the tires changed.

it would look really pretty if you painted those cross braces or w/e they are called in your bay. even your dogbones too. but then again, it dont look half bad black

I used grease lightning and a power washer. After that I went over all the plastics with interior dash protectant. I took all the dog bones and the cross braces off today to repaint them.

Well I worked on getting the rear struts off and got my tires changed. Those struts were shot and put up a big fight getting out. Broke off 1 bolt on each side in the strut tower. Tomorrow I will be working on drilling it out.

New struts vs. old

Those before and after pics of the engine bay remind me of my old TGP when I first spent an entire afternoon cleaning it. Very nice work so far.

i broke a bolt off of one of my rear struts as well, i had a much easier time taking it out from the top. i heated up around the bolt inside the wheel well, and grabbed onto it with vise grips from in the trunk

I tried to get it out with vice grips and liquid wrench but no luck. I'll try to heat it up tomorrow 1 last time and see if I can avoid the drilling.

Did you spin it out the top or spin it down out the bottom?

Got a little more done on the TGP today. We got the bolt drilled out so I was able to install my new struts. Got the rims and tires on the car. And I gout about 30% of the car buffed out with my 1st stage of buffing.

Really I am pretty disappointed with how the paint is on the car. The trunk and driver side quarter panel ha some issues with clear coat pitting. The driver side fender flair has clear pealing, and someone did a crappy job of repainting the driver door and front bumper. But other then that the rest of the car is coming out pretty nice. Passenger side of the car has really nice paint though. I guess I'll be looking forward to repainting it in a few years.

Here's some pictures of today's progress.

New to me tires. Not much tread and someone had a crappy alinement but for 75$ its was the only used complete set of tires this size I could find.

And a 50/50 of my 1st stage of buffing on the roof.

sorry, i was off for a few days. i know you worked it out, but to answer your question, i had taken it out through the top. i did have to grind a flat spot on it so i could get a really good bite with the vise grips
