Yesterday I lined up with a Lumina and give it decent throttle when the light turns green and he's keeping up with me so I mash it. We keep up with each other for a little wihle then the lumina starts pullin on me and I'm like WTF. He had me by about 1/2 of a car length, where the nose of my car was about half way in on his car, then we quit at about 50mph and slowed back to the speed limit (45mph). That was the first person I've seen not to do a fly by. Afterwards I figured it may have been like a 98+ year Lumina with the bigger ported intake, and my floor mat was inhibiting me from getting all the way to WOT. I'm pretty sure it was the 3.1 or else I would have been wasted big time! :) So, the Prix takes a loss this time.

Sorry to hear your loss against the Lumina. The beefed-up 1.5 gen Luminas came with the 3.4L DOHC "LS" and then the 3.8L Series II "LTZ". Those are pretty nice Luminas, the rest is a different story.
Check out the Events section for Michigan happenings, we hope to get some meets and maybe even a club started. If your interested hit it up!

A 98+ LS had a 3.1 in it. The 3.4 DOHC and the 3.8 were not offered the same year. The last year for the 3.4 DOHC was 97.

yeah thats right us parts cars actually can race and BEAT a GP :D

but still a 1.5 gen lumina with the 3.4 or 3.8 beefed up or not are pretty fast.

 Yeah, yeah. I know.

But seriously(in response to Justin), I hate my floor mat, it's curled up at the end and stops my gas pedal from going down all the way. I usually take it out when spring starts.

That's how our Grand Am was.
