First Gen... My 19th vehicle is awaiting to be titled as I type... I took a 700 mile roadtrip this weekend to deliver the GTP to its new owner and pick up a present to myself... Fehls 95 Grand Prix SE... used 71 gallons of gas, averaged 10 MPGs... Thank you John (GP1138) for helping load the GTP up on the trailer... With it being lowered, we sure had a hell of a time

Glad everything went smoothly!!

What are your plans for the GP? Just fixing the rust so it's all good to go, or any modifications?

Now all you need is a gen 3 and a gen 1.5.

Im just fixing small cosmetics for now on the GP... The Regal is going to be going under the knife and wanted something that runs and drives as I lost all interest in the GTP while it was tucked away in a barn... Mike gave me plenty of spare parts to keep me busy for a while on it... I wont touch the rust

Z34guy, I have owned a 1.5 gen
http://i1003.photobucket.com/albums/af152/bigalwalker08/97%20Monte%20Carlo/DSC07396.jpg

Two more issues came up today... The drivers door wont unlock with the switch or keyless entry but unlocks manually just fine... And the security light stays on... Maybe because I have been using the remote start quite a bit?

The drivers door lock has done that as long as I've owned it. It annoyed me and i tried fixing it a couple times. I gave up. It actually WILL work sometimes, usually in very cold weather. I don't usually lock my cars unless I'm in a shady area or something valuable is in the car, so it never bothered me too much.

The security light comes and goes as it pleases. It just started doing that in the fall.

Which key are you using more? The original GM one or the Ilco copy?

Last night out of boredom, I took a look at the spoiler to see what was broken... Turns out the passenger side mounts were non existent... So digging through my parts drawer, I was able to find the right bolts and washers to make a new mount... Pics to come...

Mike also gave me a couple tires to mount up, had that done yesterday as well... I am now headed to the yard to grab interior trim pieces for it and a couple other minor things, After that, Ill take more pics

http://i1239.photobucket.com/albums/ff510/bigalwalker/95%20Grand%20Prix%20SE/2012-02-09143917.jpg

Since it was cracked, I notched it just a bit to be able to put a screw in there with a washer big enough to not fall through, the pic is only of one, but I have both done now

http://i1239.photobucket.com/albums/ff510/bigalwalker/95%20Grand%20Prix%20SE/2012-02-09145252.jpg

On another note, I went to the yard today to get some parts for it... The blue GP gave me the exhaust tip and the passenger door handle

Got a few things accomplished today, First being replacing the front ball joints due to play in them and the front rotors due to them being warped... Pads had 60% left so I didnt replace them... Started with the drivers side...

Getting things apart

Done with the drivers side
http://i1239.photobucket.com/albums/ff510/bigalwalker/95%20Grand%20Prix%20SE/2012-02-12134225.jpg

Passenger side, Those T60s are no match for the awesome powers of BGA and his breaker bar (its actually Chris's, but that doesnt matter at this point)

http://i1239.photobucket.com/albums/ff510/bigalwalker/95%20Grand%20Prix%20SE/2012-02-12141045.jpg

Stopped after getting the old ball joint out of the passenger side and getting the rotor off and replaced the passenger door handle with one in much better shape... Also adjusted it so the door opens much nicer now

New one installed... The trunk doesnt close as easily now but at least it wont leak (I didnt see any water or dampness to begin with though)
http://i1239.photobucket.com/albums/ff510/bigalwalker/95%20Grand%20Prix%20SE/2012-02-12154203.jpg

I bought orings for the spoiler to be installed tomorrow... I have quite a few other things to complete tomorrow too... Once this car is done, the Regal goes in for some lovin

BGA now owns the AQM's Ex Submarine, and Fehl's Sloppy 2nds.

Fehl now owns BGA's Ex BGGTP

I own BGA's Ex BGGT, and DTF's Ex DTF'n (but still DTF) GTP.

Al in all seriousness, get that antisieze shit off the threads of the caliper bracket bolts. Clean the threads with a wire brush and use blue loctite and IIRC the torque is around the 140-160ftlb range.

Floor of the trunk probably wasn't damp because its been sitting in my garage for the past few months pretty consistantly. It definitely leaked. And I can see some hair there on the control arm... I guess still remnants of my run in with Bambi.

My classmate called me up again last night and told me he is coming today to get the car, so I rushed over before work and at least got the front end torqued, car off of the jackstands and the wheels torqued... After work, I ran back over and finished the car... Mike had painted the window switch bezels and they didnt sit flush in the door panel anymore so I replaced them along with the lock cover, both were broken when I got it
http://i1239.photobucket.com/albums/ff510/bigalwalker/95%20Grand%20Prix%20SE/2012-02-17232602.jpg
http://i1239.photobucket.com/albums/ff510/bigalwalker/95%20Grand%20Prix%20SE/2012-02-17234821.jpg

Also, the cover for the drivers door handle rods was in the back seat, so I threw that on, although I forgot to take a pic... I also replaced the missing knob with one he had provided me... The metal part inside the knob had stuck onto the climate control unit so I had to pull that off before the new knob would sit flush
http://i1239.photobucket.com/albums/ff510/bigalwalker/95%20Grand%20Prix%20SE/2012-02-17234816.jpg

There was a missing reflector on the right rear, replaced that

Now for the part that really sucks... Cutlass headliners are NOT a direct swap into a GP, the cutlass has a longer roof line and different placement on certain things, I found this out the hard way... You can see the height difference here
http://i1239.photobucket.com/albums/ff510/bigalwalker/95%20Grand%20Prix%20SE/2012-02-17235033.jpg
http://i1239.photobucket.com/albums/ff510/bigalwalker/95%20Grand%20Prix%20SE/2012-02-17235100.jpg

The part thats pulling away and my reason for replacing it
http://i1239.photobucket.com/albums/ff510/bigalwalker/95%20Grand%20Prix%20SE/2012-02-17235043.jpg

The cutlass one comes over the rear window quite a ways
http://i1239.photobucket.com/albums/ff510/bigalwalker/95%20Grand%20Prix%20SE/2012-02-18000030.jpg
http://i1239.photobucket.com/albums/ff510/bigalwalker/95%20Grand%20Prix%20SE/2012-02-18000131.jpg

The coat hooks in the back are mounted higher in the Cutlass, leaving the spot exposed when everything was back together
http://i1239.photobucket.com/albums/ff510/bigalwalker/95%20Grand%20Prix%20SE/2012-02-18000205.jpg

There was no OH SHIT handle on the Cutlass headliner either
http://i1239.photobucket.com/albums/ff510/bigalwalker/95%20Grand%20Prix%20SE/2012-02-17235942.jpg

So I pulled the Cutlass headliner out and figured out a way to temporarily fix the headliner that was in it... I think I did pretty good
http://i1239.photobucket.com/albums/ff510/bigalwalker/95%20Grand%20Prix%20SE/2012-02-18001240.jpg

Also found a broken wire above the sunroof switch, not sure what it is for but its fixed
http://i1239.photobucket.com/albums/ff510/bigalwalker/95%20Grand%20Prix%20SE/2012-02-18002218.jpg
