View Full Version : FS - BXX Tubular Lateral Arms With Poly Bushings, Adjustable! $250 Shipped!!
Got these bad boys back from the welder this evening. Couldnt wait to get some paint laid and them put together:D
First off, im aware the adjusters arent adjusted the same. I was playing around with the amount of adjustment. They can go over an inch shorter, and aboot an inch longer than stock. The left hand threads on the adjusters are a little tight (even left hand thread tube adapter always seems that I have to chase them and lube them up) so I need to play with them a bit and lube them up.
Pics show them compared to the size of the puny and weak Gen 2 Dorman replacements which are the same size as OE Gen 2 which is considered an upgrade for Gen 1.
Based off my measurements, Gen 2 are the same length as Gen 1. My old ones were longer, but must be an Impala thing that they were slightly longer:think:
As always, these are professionally TIG welded by a master car fabricator. No weak welds here!!

Any questions, feel free to ask! And yes, If more than one person is interested, I can make more sets!
Thanks!

$350 gets you what exactly? set of 2 arms? 4 lateral links? all 6 rear arms?
It gets you the 4 lateral arms:thumbsup:

How much more for matching trailing arms?
No paint, you know me, I have access to powder coaters.
I want to do all of them with trailing arms for $450..
If I can bring down my cost on the tube just a bit more, I can make all 4 lateral arms adjustable. Its actually easier to make the adjustable arms than the non adjustable ones:lol:

How much notice do you need to get a full set of 6 ready? I may buy some at Dayton, just have to see if I will have the money in time. Would just suck to have to ship them over the boarder, may have no choice though...
Those are poly bushings? I read the title
Are they Greasable though?
About 4 weeks tops before I can ship once I have the money.
Not greaseable unfortunately. Unless I can find the proper bushings.
BUMP!!!
Due to multiple reasons, mainly demand, I will no longer be making these. So now would be the time to jump in and get these cheap.
I will make parts as people are interested, but will not be able to keep the prices where they are. They will pretty much be treated as one off parts so the cost will be much higher. Sorry guys, but with almost no demand, and the sheer amount of time it takes, I cant sell items just to make $20-$50 tops:(
Thank you for those who understand:thumbsup:

BTW, money talks, make me an offer on these bad boys and I just might accept it:lol::lol: Reason being is im trying to pay Jonpro asap so I can move on with paying off other things and whatnot.

How much is a set of all 6 with heims, unpainted?
Your looking in the $650-$700 shipped range.
Ill dig more into it later. Gotta figure out costs as steel prices change what seems daily, so my material prices follow the same lately:lol:
BUMP!!!
This set only, $250 shipped if paid for by Friday:thumbsup:

how many sets will you give me to pay off the vert?

Complete lateral and trailing arms?? 2 IIRC equals aboot $800 my cost.
Or just lateral arms, 3 sets.
BTW, you were right, the Dorman trailing arms (I got from Rockauto) are identical to the Impala/MC Supercharged SS and 9C1/9C3 cars:thumbsup:
I have an asston of 5/8 standard rod ends (10000lb load rating each) that I can make a set of arms using those too.

I figured as much. As the parts on our cars are made by various manufacturers(even different parts made by different manufacturers to the same specifications) they most likely made the arms.
I would be interested in the lateral arms only as I already find they need to be tougher than stock gen 1s, but tougher than stock trailing arms are already produced.
next question:
how long is each arm compared to the stock gen 1 replacements? would I have to run coilovers?
p.s. I have observed at least SEVEN 9C1/9C3 cars (00-05 impalas) with round and not square tubing for the trailing arms, have you seen different???
Dorman's replacement arms are made in China, except to exact GM Specs.
I can do 3 sets of lateral arms.
I can make them to whatever length needed for ya Ken. From what I measured off the vert, and measured on the Dorman Gen 2 replacement arms, they are the same length.
Either way, they will be fully adjustable and you can adjust them longer or shorter than stock, whatever you want. Should work with stock transverse leaf spring with no issues.

So the arms are completely interchangeable between 1st and 2nd gens? sweet!

Dont quote me 100% on this. Reason being is the lateral arms from an Impala I had on my old CS were a bit longer.
Get me exact measurements from bolt center to bolt center on your stock arms and I can tell you.

IIRC the 1G lat arms are .5" shorter each than the 1.5 and 2G links. I seem to remember reading that somewhere on here. I know the tracks are 1" apart, but IDR if it's in the arms or the subframes.
BTW PM me a price on the stock 2G arms you have. I may be interest
Either way, I have a suspension discussion thread up if we can take this topic to that.
I wanna try to keep this for sale thread clean.

Sorry bout that :(
At any rate, I need to get some form of lat links, whether its those stock 2G's or your custom ones. I guess it depends on money and if I get beat to one or the other
Group rate with front oilcover mounts? :showoff:
BUMP!!!
Seriously? Nobody wants these for $250 shipped:think:

I'm still very tempted, but I'd have to see where I'm at when I come down. I have a rent check to deposit, so I think I should be good. I'll even throw in a vert boot
SOLD TO THE PSYCO ONE!!!
