No, lifters are a different size. It would work if one was able to get the carrier and lifters. But he sounds like he needs only one and probably wants the same on each side.

Correct AND incorrect. I am asking 97 specifically because I need the smaller lifters and want them to match.
However, the rare 96 that was made late in the run, got the 97 size lifters.
91-96 bigger lifters
97(and the occasional late production 96) smaller lifters
Now, I have a '96 engine that was one of the freaks that got the smaller lifters, perhaps Anthonys is as well.
Anthony, do you have any way of measuring the inside diameter of the lifter holes?

Well not really its on a monte back in the yard. I suppose i could pull the front cam carrier and masure them..

Do you have the cam sprocket on that engine? Really need one, as our 96 sprocket somehow got lost when moving the engine from place to place.
