Actually not me, but a buddy of mine that's in med school. He's been working 80+ hour weeks, and still driving his POS F150 that is on it's last leg.

We have Saturday morning/afternoon to look at 3-4 cars, and then for him to pick one out of the bunch. Because of the limited time frame, would prefer to keep whatever vehicles we look at within a 30 mile radius of Toledo.

Would prefer not to deal with out of state title's, as he does NOT have the time to deal with getting to a dealer to get an out of state inspection.

He's just looking for something that will be relatively dependable. And when it breaks, parts aren't horrible expensive (read: he's in med school, he's in debt for about 1,988,293 years). He said he doesn't care how it looks, but I'm sure that he doesn't want a rust bucket, and I would prefer not to put him in one either (I get to fix his car when it breaks).

I'm pretty busy with work myself, so I don't have a ton of time on my hands to look around. So any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Chris

This has gotten pushed off for a few more weeks. He has a med school conference this weekend, and Rachel's grandmother isn't doing good, so no time.

That, and I'm getting my company car next week, so if he needs to borrow a vehicle, he can use my Xterra.

But, we are still going to keep our eyes open for a good deal.

I find this hard to believe... Cars around my area are holding there values like no other... I was strongly thinking about putting my 97 on CL for 3200 knowing I could get 2800 for it... Our dealer lot has a 99 gtp with 178k on it with a 6k asking price, they have had many people interested but due to lack of credit, cant get approved, we did just sell a 01 stratus with 120k for 9k though (yes I agree that that is outrageous)... But I still disagree with the above statement... It all depends on the market of the area you are in

It's crazy seeing the prices on most cars I find on craigslist. It's become extremely hard to find anything decent and drivable for under $1500. I miss the days when I was in H.S. and ya could find cars that weren't complete shitboxes for around $500. Now, if it can be driven, you're talking at least $1k regardless of shape. I'll go ahead and follow the trend, and blame it on cash for clunkers..

FWIW, I've not seen a drivable 97+ GP listed on my "local" craigs in a long time for anything less than $3200. Even '98s are currently listed for around $4-5k.
