A while ago, I took out my useless front ashtray, and now have a nice space to put in some other electronics, gauges etc...

BUT, ever since I took it out(of my 89 Supreme), the light for it doesn't work!!?? It always did work before. When I opened the ashtray, it would light up, but now it doesn't at all.

What I'm thinking is that when the ashtray was opened, it did something to turn the light on, just like with the glove box.

Anyone know??

Does the light come on when the ignition is on or not at all?

The light is wired to the park lights, it's always on as long as the park lights are on.
You might just have a dead bulb.

Yeah I changed it with a brand new one...so that's why I'm confused...

Hmmm, me too. Must be either a bad socket, bad wire, or maybe it was grounded to the cig lighter jack somehow?

Pull the bulb and test it with a multi meter. see if its getting power.
