View Full Version : 90 GP upgrades and engine questions

Hi , I just bought a 90GP with 65000 miles as a daily driver till my street strip Z28 is finsihed . The car is about perfect but sinice I cant leave well enough alone I want to upgrade it some . Here are my questions . Is this a 3100 or 3.1 ? How much HP can this engine support on nitrous oxide ? Has anyone here done cams , heads or intake changes on this engine ? I found a Super Charger but its $4500 and only 80hp more . I want to change the wheels too . Anyone know what sizes will fit without problems ?

Go pop your hood and the intake will tell you if it's a 3.1 or 3100.
It should say 3.1.

Yes this I know . Its a 3.1L engine but I thought there was a diff between the 3.1 and "3100"

There is a difference. If it's a 3100, it will say 3100 on the intake. At least my '94 Cutlass does.

if it's a 1990 gp the in take reads 3.1 multi port F.I. :willynilly: but in it's a newer say 1996 & 1/2 engine it should say 3100 with the coil packs on top of the intake.
