It is official! Sealed Beam headlights are now open for a group buy. These apply to 91-96 Grand Prix 2drs and some Cutlass Supremes? 1992-97 coupe, 1992-95 conv.

http://www.eurolamps.com/eurolamps/camaro_headlights.htm

From the original thread on clubgp.com

We all know and hate our sealed beam headlights. Why? Because their is no aftermarket bulbs for our 2 door vehicles. (1991 to 1996). If you wanted to; which many have(I have), and that is with a razor blade you can cut out the sealed headlight bulb from the factory headlight housing and reseal another bulb of your choice in.
Doing this could possibly result in a small leak which condensation can fill your housing.

1993-1997 Chevy Camaros have the same headlight housings. Our housings are 100% identical to those of a 93-97 Camaro.

Eurolamp makes a sealed beam conversion for the 93-97 Camaros and fit our car like a glove. I have the sealed beam conversion housings on my regular and high beams. These housings allow you to snap and unsnap in any bulb of your choice!!!!! This is especially important for those who want to use HID's! Or just want to use another bulb.

The Group Buy will last for 4 weeks instead of 6 weeks like in the email. When the time is up then you pay up! Last day to get on the list is Nov 26th. Must pay by Dec 7th.

Hi Corey,

Your % breakdown is pretty much what I was going to suggest and yes, we can do it based on the number of pairs of housings (so that those that order lowbeams & highbeams will count as 2). 6 weeks sounds fine to me as well. Let me know when you would like to start.

I have setup an email address specifically for the Group Buy, it is grandprixgb@eurolamps.com , please make sure that all those interested use this email address. This will make it much easier to keep track on our end.

If you have any questions or anything, just let me know.

Best Regards
Peter S.
@EuroLights(tm)

PS. Housings alone, without bulbs are $68.00 per pair with Free Shipping.

Hello Peter.
6 weeks should be enough for a group buy. I'll start the group buy once I know the discount % you have in mind.

I want the discount to be based off of individual sets of housings total. Instead of how many buyers. Because some buyers will want housings for high and low beams combined. The 91-96 Grand Prix crowd is small but over 4 forums i'm hoping to get quite a few of these housings out there.

The bigger the discount the more buyers we'll obviously snag. I just thought of these numbers below myself. If you can do something better i'm sure that will attract more buyers.

1-4 housings sets 5% off
5-10 housing sets 10%
11-15 housing sets 15%
15+ sets 20%

What is the price for a set of housings with NO bulbs?

Thanks
Corey

so this is basically a kit so that you don't have to glue other bulbs in? I just glued my silverstars in well over a year ago with no problem, but this basically adapts the stock housing to accept all bulbs (specified) in the stock twist in fashion?

they sit in and there's a wire that goes over the back of the bulb and holds them in. just cleaner and easier than doing the silicone trick and reduces the risk of messing up the bulbs.

My dad will likely get in on these because those headlights cost $25 a piece and last for like a year !!!

As much as possible I'd like to keep this thread about the Sealed Beams specifically.

If you don't want their bulbs then it is $68 with free shipping for just the housing. The housing comes with a metal bulb retainer! Of course this price will be cheaper with the more buy ins. This is on 3 forums currently. One more forum pending approval.

Price is by the PAIR. So $68 would get you 2 housings. Enough to do your low beams. You need 2 pairs to cover both your high and low beams.

More buyers we get. The cheaper the housings will be.

these miniquads suck for light...

Isn't that more about the design of the reflector and lens? Changing out with a brighter bulb will help, but won't really fix the problem, right?

Ok. Do you want high and low beams? With bulbs(which color). Or no bulbs? With these you can put in some brighter silverstars and switch out for HID's later if you wish.

The group buy is still early. I know of just 3 housings at the moment. But i know several others are going to get in on this at the last minute. I'm hoping for at least 10+ housings. Which is decent for our small and cheap crowd :willynilly:
