How do I remove....?

The top part of the front center consol/arm rest in my 89 Supreme has had a rip in it since I've owned it. Up until now I've tried to cover it up with various decals etc...but now I want to remove it and get another un-torn one from the wreckers.

But, just from looking at it, it seems like I would have to remove the whole center consol? Am I right? Or can I just remove the lid top/arm rest part?

And if so, how exactly?

You can remove just the top lid. There are 2 screws inside the storage compartment right by the hinge. Remove those and it should pull right out.
