hello i am just posting this to get an idea of how many people (if any) would be able/willing to attend a northern minnesota w-body gathering in the mid/late summer if i were to organize it. it would be just a rough estimate, i think it would be pretty fun only if like 30 or 40 people showed up

I'd prolly go, obviously depending on the date and time.

minnesota rocks!!! wait nevermind it SUCKS! the summers are cool but i hate the winters, too cold, snowmobiling is fun but the idea of salt and shit on my car rusting it away gives me the shivers, i want to ride a bike to school in the winter, or drive a big truck 8)

ok, the thought of a northern minnesota meet is cancelled, oh well! hey supreme_style21, are you gonna go to the carshow here in bemidji? im not sure when it is, there is a flyer at work ill get and ill post it on here, ive went the past 2 years, my highlights are:

1932 ford 3-window coupe with a 426 hemi topped with an 8-71 weiland blower

69 charger daytona

71 AMX

..good shit, its really fun to see all the hot rods and stuff, some people bring their campers with tables with car parts and other junk on them, its actually a car show/sawp meet, but its more car show than swap meet, but its still fun

supreme_style21
06-18-2003, 11:05 PM

i have a cousin/friend that lives up in Bemidji. i've only been there once in '98 and that was when i bought his Malibu from him. (his name is Luke...he's about 22). i'd love to go there again, i'd also get to see some family and take a nice road/fishing trip. it would have to be later this summer - quite a trip for me. maybe i could catch a show at First Avenue in Minneapolis while i was at it

well me myself arent much of a fighter but i used to watch the WWF wrestling at stuff like that, and my friends mike peterson was there, hes huge, i know him from wrestling, he goes to college in st cloud and he was fighting, first fight he had he whipped ass, the second fight he lost but only because the decision went to the other guy that was from redby or some other hometown close, so it was either give it to mike and make the whole crowd happy (everyone in the crowd was rooting for him) or give it to the native guy and make all the tribal members and tribel elders all sitting around the ring, which the fight was on their casino and in their neck of the woods. so the judges gave it to the other guy, even though mike had picked him up and slammed him down on the mat 2 or 3 times and the only thing the other pussy could do to save himself was hold on to the cage so keep mike from kicking his ass, that guy was a pussy and never shoulda won

i was the person that looked at the tgp this spring...i never got the money to buy it...the last i heard the guy was selling it to someone in canada. I would be interested in a meet definately but it cant be too far away...my friends and I are starting a little team/group thing here in fargo...anyone from mn/nd can definately jump aboard. We are gonna hopefully buy a shop here in a little while.

Yup that was the one...I drove it i think it had a few issues...this sat from 6-10 at the track off of I-94 in moorhead you can race all night for $20. Good of place as any to meet.

musthavemuzk
09-04-2003, 10:01 PM
he seemed to think it was the next best thing since sliced bread.
but yet was selling it.

i saw a commercial on tv for buffalo speeday. is this the one you are talkin about?

i am trying to get to fargo to hang with some car audio buddies as well.

will holla back when i get more info.

the following weekend 13/14 i am heading to hutchinson,MN for a car audio competiton/car show.

so if this weekend does not work then it would have to wait for a couple weeks.

No its the I-94 dragways or somethin like that. Its a completely renewed drag strip within the past week. What car audio buddies would those be? If they arent a lot past my generation I might know of them or somethin a long those lines. We should get a meet this saturday at the track and we can all get time slips for $20 and unlimited runs and show up some of those cavis!

musthavemuzk
09-05-2003, 03:48 PM
well
mine is pretty slow
and with the added car audio weight it is even slower
remember mine has a whopping 130 horse or was it 140 stock.
comin up on 150,000 miles

but i am game for some time with a new crew.

musthavemuzk
09-05-2003, 04:15 PM
i mentioned this today at work
and only one person had a clue there was 1/4 mile action that close.
most thought i was talkin about red river speedway or buffalo.

guess ya learn something new all the time.

unless my cutty dies or someother bad thing happens
i will be there.
site says it starts around 4 until dark

so i will be there for some good sites.

09-05-2003, 04:17 PM
yeah it should be a lot of fun...there are a bunch of fast cars running around fargo...a few supras...bunch of really quick dsms(eclipses) and other things as well

musthavemuzk
09-05-2003, 04:19 PM
WOW
i would have not guessed fast cars way up here

i know brainerd is pretty close and all

but i just would not have guessed fargo to host some cars as well.

lookin forward to this

Monty

FastSE2DR
09-05-2003, 04:26 PM
the fastest car in town is theoretically supposed to run 10.5s with close to 500awhp in an awd talon...the next is a supra that runs 10.66 so theres some competition

musthavemuzk
09-05-2003, 06:27 PM
that is pretty fast.

any fast domestic FWD cars?

Monty

FastSE2DR
09-06-2003, 12:39 AM
hmm not too sure about that...just me that i know about besides cavi's but some dont really consider those domestic...hey i might be surprised

musthavemuzk
09-06-2003, 10:34 AM
welp i am headed south now.

gotta make a couple stops along the way but should be there in plenty of time to catch some 1/4 mile action

was this supposed to be today?! (sept.6) if so, shit, i shoulda gone. but i had to work all day anyway. tell me the next time you guys are gonna get together, ill be there (if my parents let me) my brother is goin to college at UND so i know how to get to grand forks, thats about it, lol. so the next time you guys are gettin together let me know and ill try to make it. i dont know if i would actually race, i might make a few runs just to see how fast my car is, but it wont be very fast im guessing. wait, i know it wont be very fast. who knows, maybe my car wont even make it there. but we'll see, but ya, next time, just drop me a line and ill be there. even though ill probably be one of the youngest out of the group (16)

all i can say is OH MY.

some cars that looked mean and were.
some that looked innocent but were not.
many spraying
a couple dead ones
a couple GTP's
some other GP's
last run of the night was a SRT4 vs EVO VIII ( i think it was an 8)
14.35 to a 13.85 (srt--evo)

some cars improved their times.
some just held constant.

sure was cool as hell
i had never watched quarter mile action up close.
the bikes dipped sub 10 but the fast car was mid 10.
most seemed to be in the 13-15 range.

sure hope i can get to the next one.

it was hot day of racing...my tranny was horrible. I couldnt avoid hitting my rev limiter. My fastest time was a 16.926@82.27mph with me still bouncing off my limiter...i dunno the shifts just werent firm. It was a lot of fun tho...met some kid that has a bored over 3.4dohc with a custom chip that was kinda cool. Saw one of my friends in an eclipse break something on 2 different runs he has the worst luck. The EVO i think ran a 13.55 if i remember right but i may be wrong. Overall it was a really fun day and I hope more can make it the 20th of sept.

the smell of burning rubber brings back the days of high school.
first car was a 73 camaro 350LT-1 auto no posi. 60 series goodyear all around. hugged corners like on a rail. even for its size. prolly as heavy as my cutty. iirc 3400 curb on that gen of camaro.
but i loved the smell of burnouts. so this cost me tires.

but yeah would be cool to see more.

on the drive home the thought crossed my mind that those GTP's may have been from clubgp or the MN chapter of club GP
www.clubgp.com
www.mncgp.com

i do not have a GP so i just troll both forums every now and again.

mayb since you have a GP you could register and mayb get some of them to pop in.

iirc the main crew for the MN chapter is from the cities. but there were some from other areas of the state.
