How do I get the seatbelts out from the top rung at the top of the door?

you must pop the black plastic cap from the outside side of the retainer, revealing a nut. use a GOOD wrench the grip it... and I turn the belt buckle/anchor and hold the wrench stationary.

good luck on your conversion! I am doing the same thing... but going two-tone on my 91 vert... once i fix the tranny!

What color was it previously? Charcoal gray?

Wow, that sure looks familiar. My interior looks exatcly the same right now. I agree with the majority, all black, or maybe black with some red inserts in the seat or something.

light grey, and spots of browny reddish stains and lots of gew.Just plain nasty, previous owner deserves a kick in the head for letting it get as bad as it was.

Not to hijack, but have a question for 'vert owners. Will a regular coupe or sedan back seat fit? I want to go with rear buckets, but I am wondering.

the coupe seats should swap right in

you might have to bend the mounts a little bit to get the seats in. I had to bend the rear bench seat's mounts to fit the vert rear bench into my 88 coupe.

Woah!

I never noticed the convertibles had shaved door handles!

Just the pace cars. You can kinda see the button for them on the top of the door panel. That setup wouldn't work so well if the car had windows. :willynilly:

Want to hear some bullshit?! I was at Indianapolis Speedways muesum in early march with my dad. I was hoping to see all the pace cars over the hears. NOPE. They had a '69 Camaro SS pace car. I asked one of the security guards there where are all the pace cars, they said in the basement, when I asked if we could see them. "No this is the only muesum" Needless to say I felt ripped off.

And that picture is in the muesum!!!!!!

This looks like my back seat does now, only more so. Assuming the red exterior and black top, black would work. My daily driver car is a red celica with a black top and it has a dark blue-grey, much bluer than the Olds charcoal, and it's about as boring as the charcoal. But unless you're going to fabricate new stuff, your stuck with the original set of interior colors. White interior needs white top. Red interior seem kind of tacky without white or black top and black or red body. Red top just ain't it. This is genuine old school approach, you might find something way different that works. Take the red, say the gas cap cover, to the local home depot and use the computer paint matching gizmo to come up with complementary colors, it really works.

Black with red accents.
