View Full Version : sticker remover on dash?

i know sticker removal has been discussed a lot, but what about on interior parts? my car had a dashmat on it when i bought it and they used some sort of adhesive activator so the dash has some nasty residue on it where the mat was velcro'ed. will sticker shock or lighter fluid or sm adhesive remover or something else be okay? what would have the least chance of discoloring the plastic? thx.

Acetone worked nice on the velcro goo from a radar detector on my Toro's dash; didn't hurt anything. Maybe test in a small area first though, just in case.

sticker shock worked, but there is still some hard residue left that i dont think will come off. i'll try acetone

Try a hairdryer to warm it up...

Be sure to try it on a small spot first.
Just simple rubbing alcohol ate the paint off the steering column on my 89. :(

Gas line anti freeze or methyl hydrate works awesome for me
