On the stock intake, about 1/2 way between the filter canister and throttle body, on the bottom of the tubing, there's something that looks like a small round cylinder. What is it and what does it do?

If your talking about that "sack" its basically to redice the turbulance of the air going into the TB, and to make it more quite as compared to if you just had a straight intake without that, youll hear the noise Im talking about. But really, it has no prupose at all.

Great, another way for GM to make money off people. I could just see it;

customer: What was wrong with my car?
Mechanic: We replaced your air filter, fuel filter, and doohickie. That's $900. Cash or credit card?

:lol:

I do......ever hear a 3800 with a CAI? Hell, even thir factory box is loud. Some Venture vans made a whistle at part throttle......VERY annoying cruising down the highway.
