Nothing besides what I posted last. I talked with him and as far as I know, Davis is stopping to see him and probably pick up his spring tomorrow. I don't know if hes having it installed there or doing it himself, but you can call him anytime. He should know what you are asking for when you say w-body group buy. The guys name is Tony and call whenever you like. Info is up two posts.

SWEEEET, thanks Davis!!
I have found myself as well as hearing this thought from others, that new struts with a full gas charge will lift you up, I have a number of local TGP owners here with the same miles as some of my cars and with their orginal struts, they don't even need any drop springs  :!: But since mine have new struts, I look fricking off-road. SO.....I plan to start with new struts before I drop  in the springs.

what kinda drop you intrested in Slick????
Whoever is intrested in this give me your names addresses and measurement for the drop and i can find out more when i go the the shop on Friday......
i'm in too, but i won't have the money ready until March at the earliest...more than likely not until April :? i want whatever drop that will make the car sit perfectly level with the Intrax front springs...anyone have any ideas what that would be? i'll have to install the Intrax front springs before i decide on how low the rear needs to be...
EDIT: note on my sig pic...i want the rear to sit JUST LIKE THAT....possibly even a tad lower since i'll be using a 225/55-16 tire instead of the currrent 225/60-16s. you can see in the pic the front end is higher. i'm hoping the Intrax front springs will level the car out without adjusting my current rear coilovers. then i will replace the rear coilovers and order a rear lowering monleaf spring based on that...

Sent my PM. I have ST springs in the front, and it sets pretty low. I requested a 1.5"-2" drop. It should still give me a pretty good stance, but, this will also help lower my center of gravity too

Jeff M
what struts are you going with Jeff?
I have a set already in one TGP that I have been driving, the KYB GR2, the ride is perfect for me, firm but takes harsh hits without killing ya, and with the gas back in it/new, the stroke is a little longer and better controlled so there is not that jarring on the end of long undulations like my old struts/60k miles. Seem to not get too loose when warm/hot weather and as long drives heat them up, and still compliant when cold out. Thing I almost screwed up on was draining out the fluid left in the front strut cavity where the cartridge goes in (thought it was from a blown strut cartridge), the fluid is supposed to be there to pull heat away that is generated by the strut cartridge as it works, and send it out to the strut body surface for dissipation. I am getting near done with the same KYBs in my TSTE.
Heard when AGX (?) were available that they were damn stiff even on the softest setting, same with the Koni that I knew someone modified to work in their TGP, damn stiff. Not heard on the Gabrials/Sears or Monroes in enough detail to know how these compare :? .

I will also add here since a group buy of lowering springs is leading to thoughts of how new struts will effect that and, the work of installing new struts.
Rear strut removal has been mentioned as a be-itch and it can be without some thought, and what I found and can add is while removing the rear strut to NOT attempt taking off the top single big nut for removal there (inside the trunk/bitch to get to!!!) but instead remove the 2 bolts from inside the top of the wheel well, same difference in achieving removal there but much easier!!! As for the bottom, another tough job but once the nuts are loosened up, leave them on just enough to protect the end of the bolt/threads and hammer against the nut face with a piece of wood (getto tools) to drive out the serrated finished bolt, or (professional tools) use a pneumatic air-hammer, just make sure to note the locations of the bolt in the old strut’s elongated mounting hole to the new strut elongated mounting hole so you get a much better camber match-up, though an alignment is best after new struts!

kickass Dave thanks for checking up on this! i won't be buying one until April/May, since i'm spending ALL of my extra money on the Cutlass just so i can make the March 19th dyno date. any more suspension stuff will have to wait for now.
btw what's $190 Canadian in USD?

will these be available for $155US if we can't buy them until April or May? until then, just getting my car ready for the March 19th dyno day is taking ALL of my extra money :?
thats good for me also. I just spent $$$ on my chrome 18" 077's and i would like to be able to measure how far my car is dropped with the c/o's and ge tthe same drop from the mono leaf

I'm sorry, I am in on this I've just been real busy lately, and I was actually hoping that I could get those front springs installed so I could see how far I wanted to drop it.. as far as I know no one has dropped a TGP with Intrax yet so I will be in uncharted territory.. I know it wont vary much from a Cutlass but I just wanted to get a better look before I told him. I suppose I don't need to drop the rear more than 2.5" though.. I will take measurements and let you know by Friday.. if I don't PM me to ask before you call Tony again.

still time
lemme know your shipping address and the drop height for the rear
most of the guys who are getting the intrax fronts are going with a 2.0 inch drop in the rear leaf and then with the poly leaf blocks under the ends it ends up 1.5 with the ability to shave the blocks down to "fine tune" the drop to match the front
lemme know
Dave
This would be exactly what I want. I'm also trying to match the Intrax Front Springs. Let me know when to send the $$. (Can I pay with PayPal though?)

02-27-2005, 08:19 PM
payment can be Paypal to me and i can pay on your behalf or you can send a Money order directly to Birchmount Auto Spring ( im going to post the address)
i have to speak to Tony about credit card payments by telephone
thanks

Credit card over the phone would be awesome! If not, I'll probably just have to send you a Paypal payment.
Hopefully we can get 10. The cheaper, is well, you know better!

I placed my order over the phone last week! Sounds like great guys. I want to add just to ward off surprises/reactions from owners when they get these, the springs are metal not fiberglass!! Just to let people know unless Davis said it and I missed it  Do I care or think this is bad, what are you my fricking worry-wart wife :bash:  no worries mate, metal will work, has on many cars and trucks and still used today on many so no issue, fact is over time if the spring starts to relax or drop too much and the inserts don't get you back up, you can replace one or more sections of the leaf, or if one breaks from someone having tons of weight and/or whacks some huge dips in the road, so just to let you guys know. Mine should ship this week, and YES Davis, do let us know your install tips since you got them first  8)

I called on Thursday to make sure that they were ready and to make sure the payment was made, which it was... he said they would be out on Friday because UPS told him that he needed to do some paperwork for customs/international shipping that he wasn't aware of.. That was Thursday night a little bit after 5pm. I'm assuming that they are already gone and on their way, but I do not know for sure. I would like to know for sure so if someone else knows please chime in!!
